Dr. Robert Schnitzlein is a former staff psychiatrist at the South Woods Correctional Facility in Bridgeton, New Jersey, and the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Between 2006 and 2012, Dr. Robert Schnitzlein served as the medical director of Alliance, Inc., in Belair, Maryland, while continuing to provide psychiatric services.
For nearly a decade, Dr. Schnitzlein has worked as a locum psychiatrist at Medicus Healthcare Solutions and as a clinical psychiatrist at Thrive Behavioral Health. In addition to his work as a psychiatrist, the doctor maintains interests in nutrition and functional holistic health and has completed coursework at the Institute of Functional Medicine.
After receiving an associate’s degree in engineering science from Middlesex County College in Edison, New Jersey, Robert Schnitzlein obtained a bachelor of arts in biochemistry from Rutgers College in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He then earned a doctor of medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. During his time as a doctoral candidate, he was presented with the Dean Charles Brown Award, a student-voted award for the individual who best represents the medical profession. He also was named class delegate all four years.
